I’ve been listening to the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court-nominee Neil Gorsuch with great interest and had to look up the cover of his book, the catchingly-titled The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthenasia. I’m sure it’s a fun read.
The cover seeks to give the potential reader no doubt as to the subject matter, going with a stark black background, imperial-looking large-lettering and minimizing the size of the words “of” and “and” because those words are too pleasant and should not negate the subject matter. Also, let’s not forget the somberly dead tree graphic.
I’m sure it’s a well-written piece and Gorsuch is no dummy at all. For what it’s worth, I think he’ll make a fair judge, but I personally judge this cover to be a less-than-average design.
