The Road

Typically, I find it worthy of an eye-roll and a well-timed scoff when someone describes a book as a “real page-turner.” But that’s exactly what The Road is. But that’s besides the point.

More to the point:

The cover is appropriately bleak given the book’s apocalyptic premise, and appropriately non-descript as are the invisible reasons for the apocalypse. This ain’t no games of hunger.

Still, sometimes simplicity can err on the side of lazy. And The Road‘s cover doesn’t captivate near to the extent that its content does. But overall, I deem it a worthy effort.

I don’t know if the featured image above is a real cover or not, but I kind of like it if it is.
